Hi guys! I'd love to see more of the Bat-family here!

Bruce Wayne - Batman
I don't really feel like I need to put words here. D; But Batman is Gotham's dark knight, it's one defender, blah blah blah~ The place needs it's signature brooding badass, and someone to keep Joker under control.

Jim Gordon
The commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department, Jim Gordon is a toughened man, who's seen a lot in his days. Rough, gruff, and oh so very tough. XP He doesn't accept bullshit from any of his officers, or from any of the criminals he takes down. He's a celebrated officer, well known throughout Gotham, and possibly the only person capable of putting up with the city's crap in such a public way.

Barbara Gordon
Batgirl! Or Oracle! I'd love to see her in play, especially if we get a Jim Gordon as well. I don't mind if she's Oracle or Batgirl, crippled or not. Though if she's not, beware that Joker'll make that attempt sooner or later, because he's a horrible person. x3

Anywho, I'd just love to see more Bat-family here! It'd be great!

Things just continued to get more and more interesting around Gotham. And just when he thought it couldn't get any crazier, more entertaining.. He was mildly certain he'd seen a vampire, just the other day. A vampire! How had he lived so long and not known that such a thing existed? It was delightful, and a tiny part of him wished to join their ilk. A touch of realism and logic kept him from seeking out such an event, though. He doubted it would be such an easy feat as walking up and asking such a beast to share its secrets. The idea was a bit preposterous, at that.

No, his focus instead was on attaining some of the new technology he'd seen floating around. New weapons, new guns, new vehicles.. And the rumor of space travel suddenly being available? He wanted in. Gotham was suddenly feeling a bit small, amidst all the rumors he had been hearing.

Hence why he was breaking into a research facility, where, so the story went, there was some of this new technology being researched and tested. Found by humans, but belonging to aliens? It sounded like a lot of bologna, but even if that was all it was, Joker was still intrigued by the idea, enough so to spend the time to get into the place.

Within the hour, it was all on the news.

The Joker breaks into Gotham Central Research Facility.
2 dead, 4 hostages; Gotham PD are surrounding the area.

Inside the facility itself, a group of goons were spread out, guarding the doors, each armed with a semi-automatic rifle. Another goon held a gun toward the four hostages crowded into the corner of the room, while Joker poked around. He'd found an interesting looking gun--really, it didn't even look like a weapon, but a remote of some sort. Easy to hold in hand, with two settings. Some sort of stun setting, and then the other, funner setting, which seemed to just disintegrate people. The weapon was like nothing Joker had ever seen; he'd tested it on two of the scientists, when they had refused to tell him what the thing did, and one of them was collapsed on the ground.. The other one was basically just a cloud of dust, now.

"I love change, don't you, boys?" he asked the thugs in the room. "What a godly weapon this is! Haha! A real life death ray--I would have thought they would make them more intimidating, though!"

Clown Prince of Crime | Jack Napier | DC

The Joker is the arch nemesis of none other than Batman. His primary residence is in Gotham City, though what with the newfound technology, new races, new monsters... He's bound to go exploring sooner or later.

A true-to-the-T sociopath, Joker is about as crazy as they come. Nobody knows his real name, nor how old he is, or even why he does what he does, or even how he got the ghost white skin and green hair that he's known for. In other words, a bit of a mystery, despite being around Gotham for almost six years. He is a 'professional criminal'; brutal, cunning and highly dangerous. Even other criminals and villains within Gotham keep their distance from this clown, and with good reason.

He isn't good with interpersonal relationships. A pathological liar, a manipulator, and a con, he does whatever he wants, whatever suits him in any given situation. He is as likely to laugh at the maiming of a child as he is at a good pun or a knock knock joke. The crimes and heists he pulls are sometimes whimsical and amusing, yet other times cruel and unusual, horrible to the Nth degree.

He's particularly known for a peculiar sort of laughing gas, that leaves its victim both dead, and as pale faced as he is, himself.

In any case, let's get to the meat of it.

Friends: Those who call themselves friends of the Joker are likely mistaken, at least in the conventional use of the word 'friend.' He isn't trustworthy, and most psychiatrists will tell you he is incapable of loving, or caring, about anyone, friend or otherwise. Still, if you want to get his attention, tell him a good joke, or blow up a hospital, he'll be delighted either way. He also tends to attract those who are also mentally ill in some way or another.

He's also been known to strike up short-lived alliances with other criminals when it suits his needs. Usually the heist he's hired for doesn't....turn out quite the way the criminal was wanting, when the Joker is involved.

Enemies: Any seeker of justice, protector of the weak, any decent person will detest the Joker. Most people consider him a monster, to say the very least.

Lovers: He's been known to manipulate several women in his lifetime, into thinking he cares about them. Some more so than others; however, to get him to actually love someone is laughable at the very least.

Operations manager | Android | Star Trek

Data is an android, built by Dr. Noonian Soong. Of the Star Trek universe, the date for him is/was the 24th Century, and he now wonders if he has been flung into the past, considering Earth's 2014 date. He is a member of Starfleet, and the operations manager and second officer for the Enterprise-E.

Highly intelligent, Data can and does remember every word ever spoken to him, and everything he has ever seen. His memory is long, and his propensity for scientific thought it immense. He is an engineer, and very observant.

As a person, Data lacks certain social graces and other things that make a human human. He has no emotions. He cannot get angry, embarrassed, or sad. He does not feel guilt, anguish, nor fear. He will never be humiliated, or flustered, and he does not feel glee or happiness, either. He does have an emotion chip, but choses to leave it "off," for the most part, as it has caused him problems in the past, as he doesn't know how to control them property.

Despite having no emotions, he does seem to have an innate, programmed in curiosity for the world, and a need and desire to become more "human." It is his never-ending quest to be more human, and often practices such things as coughing, sneezing, or laughing in the mirror. None of them are real, of course, but his best effort at mimicking the gestures (i.e. literally saying 'ah-choo' while trying to sneeze).

Over all he seems a kind soul however, and good-hearted, able and willing to help any who need it. If you can get past his quirks, he makes a very solid friend.

Friends: Upon the Enterprise, Data had many friends. Who he finds here may be another matter. Some people feel unnerved by his status as a n android, and others take to him very easily thanks to his almost innocent and occasionally childlike curiosity.

Enemies: He has a few of these; primarily, those who are against Starfleet and humanity in general. He will stand up for those who are being bullied, and generally doesn't tolerate mean behavior as such. He would not consider them enemies truly, as he doesn't hate them, nor wish them harm--he simply wants them to stop harming those he considers allies or friends. There are also those who consider Data to be nothing more than a piece of property--a machine. While he would not consider these enemies either, they do pose a particular problem for him, as they work against his having general liberty as a sentient being.

Lovers: To be frank, Data is incapable of love. He has attempted to have a romantic relationship in the past, but ended up only hurting the woman he was with. However, should one find an interest in him, he would not be against trying again... Just be warned that he won't, and can't, love you. Nor does he have a full understanding of what all is involved in a romantic relationship. He does have the emotion chip, which at some point in the future he may activate again, but for now it is as if he doesn't have it at all.

Based on interviews within Arkham Asylum, patient 6091 has been diagnosed as a class A sociopath, with high degree functioning autism. Displays Severe Machiavellianism, and lacks many conventional elements of narcissism.<p>

Patient has shown the following attributes of a sociopath:<p>

(1) glibness and superficial charm. Evident in all of his mannerisms, he can come across quite charming if he wants, even pleasant to speak to. Of course, his reputation most often precedes him, to the point that the attempt is perfectly useless--it's never stopped him from trying.<p>

(2) manipulative and conning. One of his favorite types of games involves conning people into situations and out of things that they love. He likes holding the strings to any puppet show.<p>

(3) grandiose sense of self. He feels entitled to most things in life, and sees himself as above normal society. He doesn't acknowledge or care about societal rules or customs.<p>

(4)pathological lying. Evidenced by the numerous different stories of his origin; he feels the need to recreate himself at every chance he gets, seemingly unable to settle on one version of himself. It is rumored (and he has said) that he no longer remembers how he became the way he is, due to how many times he's lied about it.<p>

(5)lack of remorse, shame or guilt. He feels no guilt for the atrocities he wreaks on mankind, individuals, anyone. He has no shame, and no remorse for anything that he does.<p>

(6) shallow emotions. He appears easily offended by the smallest of things, and easily angered. He takes great glee and joy in the suffering of others, as well as simple things like a good (or bad) pun or joke. <p>

(7) incapacity for love. Though arguable, this trait is listed still because he has shown love for no friends, no family, relations or individuals of any kind. <p>

(8) need for stimulation. He doesn't handle confined spaces well, and will go out of his way to entertain himself, almost always at the expense of others. Most of his criminal activity seems to be solely to fulfill this one attribute. <p>

(9) callousness/lack of empathy. Alongside the inability to love, Joker has shown no capability to empathize with others, and a blatant disregard for the suffering, hurting, or offense of other individuals. <p>

(10) poor behavioral controls/impulsive nature. Joker tends to be very impulsive and flippant, acting on a whim and changing plans mid-strike to suit his needs. <p>

(11) early behavior problems/juvenile delinquency. While we have no way of knowing what his childhood was like, it is most likely he had early behavioral problems.<p>

(12) irresponsibility/unreliability. Joker has proven himself a poor ally to other villains of Gotham, as he tends to be too selfish to follow through on the plans of others, if his needs are best suited elsewise. Whether he is reliable depends on his mood and goals at the time. <p>

(13) promiscuous sexual behavior/infidelity. Flagrant flirting with psychiatrists and doctors of Arkham Asylum, regardless of gender, forces us to add this onto the list.<p>

(14) lack of realistic life plan/parasitic lifestyle. Self-explanatory. <p>

(15) criminal or entrepreneurial versatility. Joker has proven himself efficient at any number of crimes, from bank robberies to murder, kidnapping, and any other crimes he deems worthwhile.

Joker has provided numerous accounts of his childhood, upbringing, and how he became what he is today. However, none of this accounts align with each other, and furthermore, none have been confirmed as true. Through hearsay, tales from other criminals who swear they knew the Joker before he was The Joker, and stories that Joker has told himself, we have arrived at three separate histories, each with similar elements. None of the three are confirmed, however.
The accounts are as follows:<p>

1--- Once an engineer at a chemical plant, Joker gives up his job to pursue his dream of becoming a comedian, failing miserably. Desperate to find a way to support his pregnant wife, he agrees to be a part of a burglary, to steal from the chemical plant he once worked for. During the planning, he was informed that his wife and child died in a household accident, and he is stricken with grief.
Despite attempts to back out of the criminal plot, the two men strongarm him into keeping his promise, and the three approach the chemical plant. They have him wear the mask of the Red Hood, the persona given to the inside man of jobs to allow the other two to escape. When they reach the plant, a fatal shooting occurs between the criminals and the security there, and his two companions are killed.
Terrified, he flees, only to run into Batman. In an attempt to escape he jumps over the railing and falls into a vat of chemicals. When he surfaces later, in the reservoir, he finds his skin bleached white, his lips ruby red, and his hair an odd green. This, combined with the trauma of losing his family earlier in the day, is enough (theoretically) to have turned him into 'The Joker.'<p>
2--- In another version, his wife and child (already born) were kidnapped in order to force him into performing the crime. In this version, he referred to himself as 'Jack.' <p>
3--- In the final version, he is a gifted criminal known as Red Hood, who claims to be suicidal due to boredom. He became obsessed with Batman after one of his criminal jobs was broken up by him. The Batman gave his information to mobsters, who torture 'Jack' at a chemical plant. He kills several of his assailants and escapes, but falls into an empty vat, where gunfire punctures holes in the two vats of chemicals above him. The flood of antidepressant chemicals turn his skin bleached white, his hair green, etc., and turn him into what he is now, as the Joker. <p>

Joker's history after his first sighting as 'the Joker' is much more easily documented. It proceeds as follows:<p>

Joker has a long and decorated history of criminal activity. What began as simple petty theft and robberies under the rumored guise of Red Hood, quickly developed to more and more dangerous exploits. His goals shifted quickly from thefts to seemingly unwarranted attacks upon civilians, celebrities, and other wealthy individuals, with no visible gain. He has clashed numerous times with many different heroes, though his exploits center in Gotham.<p>

As well as clashing with villains and heroes alike, Joker has also been caught several times, and thrown within Arkham Asylum. He has broken out each time, sometimes with no ostensible explanation for how he escaped. He has eyes in many places, as it were. His psyche is both complicated, fascinating, and impenetrable to the professors here, and twe have admittedly made little progress into figuring out what makes him tick. <p>
